Okay folks, so here's the plot.

 A woman made comments on Facebook about her employer, and exchanged conversational comments with other employees about the original comment. The manager saw these comments, and fired her. The woman is holding legal battles saying that her comments areprotected under labor laws.

According to thenextweb.com, this is the very first case of this kind, in which a woman was fired directly based on Facebook comments.

 This sparks a very interesting debate; "Should what you say on public websites be held against you in certain situations?".

 To take a side, I honestly do believe whatever you put on your public profile should be held against you, because your profile depicts you, in the way you ask it to. So of course, anything you put on there can and will be held against you.

 Lauren Fisher of thenextweb.com (source of article) states this,
 
"If you decide to run a social profile and create content, then it is ultimately your responsibility to decide what you should and shouldn’t write, and you would hope that a bit of common sense should go a long way."
